Where Do I File?

"Venue" is where a lawsuit may be brought. Each precinct in Rockwall County serves a different geographic section of the county. Precinct 2 includes Southwest Rockwall County, generally. The following links are provided to assist you in determining which Justice Court should hear your case. You will not receive a refund of court costs if you file on the wrong court or precinct. A defendant requesting a transfer (Motion to Transfer) or other relief must comply with the timeframes in the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
