PUBLIC NOTICE FROM THE COUNTY CLERK
Under the authority of the County Judge and Commissioners Court a Declaration of Local Disaster for Public Health has been issued for Rockwall County. On May 12, 2020 the Court took action to open the Courthouse on June 1, 2020 in accordance with the Office of Court Administration guidelines as promulgated by the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Please see requirements to enter the building on the County’s home page, www.rockwallcountytexas.com.
After June 1, 2020, in order to assist the public and keep them and our staff healthy all in-person transactions are by appointment only. Appointments may be requested by calling the office at 972-204-6300.
Requests for certified copies of vital records, such as birth and death certificates may be processed by mail. Forms are located on the County Clerk Website, Birth/Death Certificate Mailed Application. You may also call to schedule an in-office appointment.Copies of recorded property records may be requested by mail or by the ROAM website countyclerk.rockwallcountytexas.com or by calling to schedule an appointment.
Requests for copies or filing for judicial matters may be done (non-attorney filings) by mail or electronically by using the State e-file Portal at https:/efile.txcourts.gov or by scheduling an in-office appointment.
Please call to schedule an appointment to apply for a Marriage License.
Applications for Acknowledge of Paternity will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for appointment.
For all general, non-essential business please call to schedule an appointment for you to personally appear.
PLEASE NOTE, ALL APPOINTMENTS WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 1, 2020 AND BEYOND. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE OFFICE OF COURT ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS LISTED ON THE COUNTY’S HOME PAGE. TO ENTER THE COURTHOUSE. SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS WILL BE LIMITED TO REQUIRED PARTIES ONLY.
