Pursuant to Senate Bill 876 enacted by the 87th Legislature, Rockwall County is a “statutory” (not “willing”) county, meaning we will continue to process registration renewal for Rockwall County residents only, and we will continue to process titles for buyers, sellers, and lienholders who reside in Rockwall County only.

COVID-19


The waiver for Texas registration expiration and for title transfer penalties has expired. Motorists are subject to tickets for expired registration, sales tax penalties, and title transfer penalties.

Services


Title work of any kind and out of state registrations cannot be processed after 4:30PM.

The Rockwall County Tax Office provides the following services:

Disability parking placards and plates
Texas Parks and Wildlife title transfers and renewals

Property Taxes


As of October 1st, 2012, all Rockwall County property taxes and their collections will be handled by the Central Appraisal District. All Rockwall County residents should now only receive one tax bill with all entities listed.
