Segment 2 (Dalrock to SH 205) 

Frontage Rd Bridges- Work continues on WB Frontage Rd Bridge drill shafts to get ready to place caps and beams, working from east to west.  

The contractor is preparing the crossing over the railroad tracks (near Snuffer’s / Harbor Bay Marina) to get WB Frontage Road traffic to the WB Frontage Rd Bridge to Dalrock. (See New Horizon Interchange Graphic).    

TxDOT noted that 400 drill shafts were placed for the EB Frontage Rd Bridge. The contractor will resume EB Frontage Rd deck concrete pours next month.

Horizon Bridge- Most caps and beams are in place for the support structure of the new first half of the bridge.  Just one more span of beams remains to be placed and the support structure will be complete for the 3 northbound bridge lanes and I-30 turnaround. The contractor will then be ready to place the road deck.  (See photo of Horizon caps and beams in place). The contractor should be ready to pour the concrete roadway in the next month, and TxDOT is targeting this fall for the shift to the new half of Horizon Bridge and demolition of the part being used now. 

EB Frontage Rd- The contractor began laying asphalt on the Temporary Frontage Rd between Lake Point Church to Rockwall Crossing Shopping Center (near Mi Cocina Restaurant).

TxDOT announced that March 30 (Sunday evening) is the planned shift to the EB Temporary Frontage Rd from Ridge to 205.  They plan to do a press release on the Frontage Rd shift in the next week.  

Segment 3 (SH 205 to FM 2642)

Construction is ongoing for the new main lanes and bridge expansions on I-30. New concrete pours are taking place for several bridge widenings along this segment. Planned shifts for the I-30 main lanes will be announced soon, allowing for the transition to the new inside lanes so that work can commence on the outside lanes.

Frontage Rd Bridges EB & WB over Sabine Creek are complete. 

The contractor will begin setting the support structure (drill shafts, caps, and beams) for the widening of I-30 main lanes over John King Blvd.  Main lanes over John King will also get new concrete roadway decking.
