The brand-new Rockwall County Courthouse Annex, set to open its doors this Summer, is located at 1101 Yellow Jacket Lane, right next to the iconic Rockwall County Courthouse. No more battling for parking in Downtown Rockwall or waiting in long lines for vehicle registration at the Historic County Courthouse!
This state-of-the-art facility will offer convenient access and ample parking for all visitors to the Tax Office. Upon arrival, the check-in kiosk will swiftly guide you to the right clerk for your needs. Say goodbye to queues—enjoy a comfortable wait in the lobby and take advantage of the desks available for customers to work on their paperwork. Tax Assessor/Collector Kim Sweet promises that these streamlined services will drastically reduce your waiting time!
But that's not all! The Annex will house the county election office and a spacious community room. This multi-purpose space will serve as a venue for voting, meetings and can function as a heating or cooling shelter during critical times of need.

The Annex will accommodate several other offices, including the Development Services Department, which encompasses Environmental Health, the Geographic Information System Department, and the County Engineer. Additionally, Indigent Health Care and the County Auditor’s Office will be located there, creating a convenient one-stop location for various county services.
The excitement about the new building kicked off with the groundbreaking ceremony on June 11, 2024, and by September 18th, the outer walls began to rise! We’re eagerly anticipating the grand opening to the public, set to be announced in August.
On Tuesday, the Commissioners Court toured the new facility. “I’m excited to see this project nearing completion,” said Commissioner Dana Macalik. “This single location will better serve our citizens, prioritizing accessibility and service.”
