[ARCHIVED] LANES AND RAMPS CLOSE IN ROYSE CITY STARTING SEP. 17

ROCKWALL COUNTY – Weather permitting, the following closures are scheduled as part of the ongoing I-30 corridor improvement project in Royse City: 

***Additional closures in preparation for the upcoming traffic switch:

Wednesday, September 17th thru Saturday, September 20th:

  1. I-30 Westbound. Exit 75 and Exit 76 ramps. Closed as needed. Overnight. 9P-5A. Install Temp Pavement Markings.
  1. I-30 Westbound Frontage Road from FM 548 to Lesli Dr. Flagging Operation. Overnight. 9P-5A. Install Temp Pavement Markings.

Friday, September 19th:
1.    I-30 Eastbound at Circle Dr. Close Exit 75. Daytime. 9A-5P. Removals and Place Hot Mix.

Friday, September 19th thru Saturday, September 20th:
1.    I-30 Eastbound from FM 3549 to Erby Campbell. Alternating Lanes. Overnight. 9P-2P. Install CSB and Temp Pavement Marking.

*** Traffic switch is scheduled to begin at 9pm on Friday (9/19) and run till 2pm on Saturday (9/20). ***

•    The eastbound I-30 off-ramp to Erby Campbell Blvd. will close beginning 9 p.m. Friday, Sep. 19, through late 2026. 

•    The eastbound I-30 on-ramp from Erby Campbell Blvd. will close beginning 9 p.m. Friday, Sep. 19, through late 2026. 

•    East and westbound I-30 will temporarily narrow to one lane between FM 551 and Erby Campbell Blvd. from 9 p.m. Friday, Sep. 19, to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 20, as part of the ongoing project. Drivers will need to be aware of the new traffic pattern set after the closure and plan extra travel time as traffic adjusts.

As progress continues, check drivetexas.org for daily lane closures. Any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance, and you can opt to sign up for text alerts. 

As a part of the $348 million I-30 corridor expansion project, crews will widen I-30 and add continuous frontage roads from SH 205 to the Hunt County Line. The work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
