The Heath Police & Fire Association (HPFA) has introduced the Safe Ride Program, a new initiative aimed at reducing impaired driving and maintaining Heath’s reputation as one of Texas’s safest cities. In collaboration with Lyft, the program offers free rides home for intoxicated residents, covering up to $25 plus tip for each trip. While Rockwall County residents typically have their full ride covered, those from outside the county will only need to pay the remainder of the fare.

Residents can easily access the service by scanning a QR code available at participating local establishments, including Standard Service, Pablo’s, Wings Over Heath, Manny’s, Gianni’s, and Buffalo Creek Golf Course.

Sgt. Kenny Griffith, President of the HPFA, emphasized the program’s goal: “We would rather pay for your Lyft than see anyone risk driving intoxicated. This is about protecting our residents and ensuring everyone gets home safely.”

The Safe Ride Program reflects the HPFA’s commitment to public safety and community welfare, along with its ongoing support for local charities and scholarship initiatives.
