Update of the I-30 Expansion/Improvement Project

I-30 3D Signs

The contractor estimates that the last drill shafts for the Westbound Frontage Road Bridge in the lake will be placed by Thanksgiving. Crews are being relocated to complete the concrete deck pours for the Eastbound Frontage Road, which are expected to be finished within the next 3-4 months. Additional work remains on the Eastbound Frontage Road Bridge to finish it and to construct connections to the new access and exit ramps. The earliest expected use of the bridge is projected for late 2026 or early 2027, with a more accurate estimate available in 2026.

Progress on the new Frontage Roads between Horizon and 205 (both Eastbound and Westbound) is ongoing, and concrete pours for several sections of the Frontage Roads have already been completed. The contractor anticipates partial completion of the new Westbound Frontage Road from Ridge Road to Horizon Road by the end of the year.

The I-30 bridge widening over John King Boulevard is ready for the installation of beams.

Construction will soon start on the new I-30 bridge over the new Rochell Road/Ben Payne Road connection.

Work is ongoing to widen all bridges east of Ben Payne to FM 2642, expanding the main lanes in both Eastbound and Westbound directions from two to three lanes, along with the Frontage Roads.

TxDOT does not expect any major closures before the end of the year.
