Royse City:
All I-30 eastbound lanes at FM 35 will be closed from 10pm Feb. 6
through 5am Feb. 7; and all lanes of FM 35 at I-30 closed same period. The contractor will be setting beams/girders in place for the new bridge. Traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
Rockwall:
Horizon Bridge. The contractor will install pier caps and girders/beams as part of the support structure for the new Horizon Bridge and U-turn bridge that will require nighttime closures of I-30 main lanes. Message Boards are advertising the closures. This will be similar to the I-30 main lane closures for Horizon Bridge partial demolition that was done in Aug 2024.
* All lanes of westbound I-30 at Horizon Rd will be closed 10pm Feb. 12 through 5am Feb. 13. All I-30 traffic will be routed to the frontage roads.
* All lanes of eastbound I-30 at Horizon Rd will be closed from 10pm Feb. 17 through 5am Feb. 18.
* Horizon Rd and Ridge Rd at I-30 will be closed from 10pm Feb. 12 through 5am Feb. 13, and again from 10pm Feb. 16 through 5am Feb. 17, and 10pm Feb. 17 through 5am Feb. 18. Traffic will be detoured.
Pictured is an example of pier caps which transfer the loads from the superstructure to the piers. The pier caps and piers are the support for the bridge beams/girders and road deck.
