The brand-new Rockwall County Courthouse Annex, set to open its doors this summer, is located at 1101 Yellow Jacket Lane, right next to the iconic Rockwall County Courthouse. This building will serve as a central location for key county functions, including vehicle registration, voting, veteran assistance and indigent health services.

Commissioner John Stacy emphasizes the importance of establishing a single facility to support the county's anticipated growth. He notes, “It is crucial to develop a centralized space that addresses our community's needs, especially since this initiative is not funded by local taxpayers. The COVID relief grants provided by the federal government, through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), offer a unique opportunity to invest in our future. By utilizing these funds, we can create a public facility that enhances service delivery without placing additional burdens on property taxes or requiring local bonds.”
Commissioner Dana Macalik expressed her support for the project, noting, “The development of the annex building reflects a commitment to long-term community investment and innovation. This initiative is in harmony with the Strategic Plan 2050 framework, which aims to enhance government operations while accommodating our expanding county population.”
We're excited to share that our new facility is designed with your comfort and convenience in mind! You'll find it much easier to access our services. For example, we’re committed to reducing wait times for everyone coming to the County Tax Office. Instead of standing in line, you can relax in our comfortable lobby while you wait for your turn. Additionally, we’ve included sit-down desks to provide you with a comfortable space to process your paperwork.

The Elections Office relocating to the Annex enhances accessibility and our modern facility makes it easier for our community to engage in democracy like never before.
A multi-purpose space will serve as a venue for voting, meetings, and can function as a shelter for heating or cooling during critical times.

The Annex will accommodate the Development Services Department, which encompasses Environmental Health, the Geographic Information System Department, and the County Engineer.

Additionally, Veteran Services, Indigent Health and the County Auditor’s Office will be located there, creating that convenient one-stop location for various county services.

We’re excited to welcome you! Stay tuned for more updates coming your way very soon!
