Rockwall County Drainage Culvert Application Form
Rockwall County requires a permit for any culvert that is to be installed along roads
maintained by the county. It is understood that this is only an application for a permit until
the following criteria have been met.
! A culvert permit application must be completed and submitted. A $50
non-refundable application fee will be collected at this time.
! The applicant is responsible for marking both sides of the proposed
culvert location. The stakes will be provided by the Road and Bridge office at
the time of application or spray paint can be used.
! The Road and Bridge Administrator will inspect the proposed culvert site and
determine the size and specifications for the culvert and its installation.
! County standards for culverts are metal, galvanized corrugated pipe.
No Exceptions.
! It is the responsibility of the applicant to install the culvert or ensure the
installer does so as specified by the Road and Bridge Administrator.
! When the culvert is set, the applicant shall call for an inspection by the Road
and Bridge Administrator. The culvert shall not be covered until this has
occurred. If the culvert does not meet the said specifications, it shall be
reinstalled at the applicant’s expense.
! The property owner will receive permit by mail 7-10 working days after
the Road and Bridge Administrator agrees the installation has been completed in
compliance with the application criteria above.
