In December, 2012, the Texas Supreme Court requires that efiling be used by attorneys for civil matters. The implementation date mandated for Rockwall County was July 1, 2015. Please be advised that as of July 1, 2015, attorneys will no longer be able to file paper documents at the clerk’s counter.

Rockwall County’s District Clerk’s Office treats all members of the public with courtesy, respect, and dignity.  The service that a customer receives in our office is a direct reflection upon the District Clerk, and Rockwall County.  In regards to this effort to provide the highest quality of customer service, please do not ask clerks for legal advice.   Unauthorized Practice of Law - Government Code, Sec. 81.101 states clerks cannot give advice or the rendering of any service requiring the use of legal skill or knowledge, such as preparing any instrument.
